## Mobile medical aid for remote villages in northern Nicaragua

A non-profit association that ensures basic healthcare and supports local Brigadistas in rural communities.

Nicaragua Projekt e.V. supports a mobile clinic, accompanies 14 local Brigadistas and strengthens healthcare in 11 villages in northern Nicaragua — long-term and structured.

## Healthcare is not a given

In remote regions of northern Nicaragua, the nearest health facility is often far away. Regular care is lacking, especially for families in rural communities.

- Our work addresses exactly this gap: structured, long-term, and locally rooted.

## Our approach

- **Mobile clinic**: Regular medical consultations directly in villages provide access to basic healthcare.
- **Training local Brigadistas**: 14 trained health workers ensure basic care on the ground and support their communities long-term.
- **Prevention and education**: Health knowledge empowers families in the long run and helps bridge everyday gaps in care.
- **Long-term support**: Continuous care instead of one-off interventions creates reliable structures on the ground.

## Impact in numbers

- **11** villages supported
- **14** trained Brigadistas
- **monthly** mobile consultations and on-site care

## Special focus on girls and women

Women and girls often bear the responsibility for family and health. Our work strengthens their medical care, knowledge, and confidence in everyday life.

- This creates stability that goes beyond individual treatments.

## Transparency and structure

- Registered non-profit association (VR 1520 BHV)
- Clear organizational structure based in Germany
- Local implementation with dedicated contacts
- Regular reporting on project activities
- Donations are tax-deductible — donation receipts available on request
- After the logistically driven withdrawal of German Doctors e.V., we are now supported by a non-profit organization in the USA and private donors in providing medical and social aid in cooperation with our Nicaraguan partners.
